How to edit your profile

Here’s what to do when you have a directory entry.

Go to the directory.

Search for your business.

Click on your profile.

Log in to the site (bottom of page). You’re registered as a user. Your username is usually your first and last names, with no space between them. But if you’ve forgotten your username, contact us to ask for it. Enter your username, then click ‘lost password’ and your password will be emailed to you – you can change it when you log in. You can then edit your profile, comment on blogs etc.

Once you’re logged in, if you hover the cursor over the top right corner of the profile, you’ll see some little boxes appear. Click on the middle box – ‘edit this listing’. Then you can change your address (even though the video below says you can’t), plus your contact details, icon pic, additional info etc.

Most importantly, you can add or remove the courses or products & services you provide. Go to ‘categories’, and either remove courses or products/services you don’t provide any more, or you can add new ones. Click the ‘add more’ button, and a huge drop-list will appear, with courses and products / services in all of our topics. Courses are at the top – for all topics – followed by Products and Services – again, for all topics. Topics are organised by category (the 11 category boxes on our home page), so it’s just a case of searching until you find them. Make sure you don’t click on the categories themselves though, as that doesn’t do anything.

When you’ve ticked all the courses and products / services that you provide, click the ‘save changes’ button at the bottom of the page, and then you will appear on the lists for all the topics that you provide courses or products / services in. So for example, here’s Native Hands’ profile. At the top you can see the services they provide. So from the basketmaking section, if you click on courses on the right-hand side (under ‘resources’), you’ll see that they’re on the list, they can be found on the map, and they have a featured profile, which means they appear towards the top of any lists they’re in (the featured listings have a beige background).

Here’s a video explaining all the above instructions.

If you don’t already have a featured profile, or a banner ad, and you’d like one, click here.

There are other ways you can get involved too – you could blog with us, or we could interview you for an article or topic, or you could comment / reply to comments. It helps our visitors and we’ll acknowledge / link to you, so it’s all good promotion.

Thanks, and welcome to the network.
