one-day
course
papermaking |
During this one-day course, you will learn how to turn used office paper into beautiful handmade paper. Different weights, textures, colours and patterns can be achieved and you will have the chance to experiment with a variety of techniques. No previous experience is necessary.
Content will include:
- types of paper that can be used to make recycled paper
- how to prepare the ingredients
- how to create paper of different thicknesses and sizes
- how to add colour and embellishments
- how to emboss and create a relief effect
After a short discussion on the techniques, you will get straight on with making your first piece of paper. As the day progresses, we will discuss and practice the different techniques and you can choose what colours, embellishments etc. to have a go at. The sheets of paper do need to dry at least overnight, so you will take home the sheets on their drying cloths to finish the process at home.
