rustic furniture - making a chair


venue: the Middlewood Trust, Lancashire

Make your own beautiful and functional stick chair from hazel, to take home with you. All tools and materials will be provided.

During the course you will learn to:

  • choose and prepare materials
  • understand the different elements of chair design
  • use hand tools to make strong and durable joints

Course runs from 10am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday, and you can arrive Friday evening if you like. Bring work clothes and stout footwear. Lunch will be provided each day. Bring your own food for evening meal and breakfast; cooking facilities and cutlery/crockery are available in our bunkhouse. Bunk house, yurt accommodation, plus camping available. Bring a sleeping bag.
