one-day
course
making & hanging shingles |
This
course is run by Jasper Prachek of the Working
Woodlands Trust. It is a practical course; participants will
be making shingles from logs, and hanging them on a demonstration
wall.
Wooden
shingles provide a hard-wearing roof (or wall) made from natural, local materials.
Shingles represent probably the lowest embodied-energy roofing
system - you just need to fell a tree and split shingles from it!
