About the Thermafleece product range About the Thermafleece product range
Second Nature, the manufacturer of Thermafleece, uses only coarse wool from UK hill sheep, and does all the processing in the UK, to produce insulation with a low carbon footprint.

Wool has many environmental advantages over mineral wool and glass fibre. It only takes one seventh the energy to make Thermafleece that is required to make glass fibre. Thermafleece is also non irritating for skin and lungs, making it pleasanter and safer to work with than conventional insulation.

There are two Thermfleece sheepswool insulation products - scroll down this page buy them via our online shop.

- Thermafleece PB20 is the cheaper option, and is supplied in compressed rolls
- Thermafleece original contains a higher proportion of sheepswool, and is supplied in short lengths called batts.

Thermafleece can be used as conventional loft insulation, and for insulation for roofs, floors and walls too. As well as providing thermal insulation, Thermafleece can also be used for sound (acoustic) insulation in buildings. BBA approved. Thermafleece PB20 is 60% British hill sheepswool, combined with recycled polyester. The addition of polyester enables the insulation to be supplied in compressed roll form - it gives it sufficient 'springiness' to regain its original thickness when unrolled.

PB20 comes in six different sizes:

570mm wide x 100mm thick x 5300mm long - 2 rolls per pack, covering a total of 6.04 square metres

370mm wide x 100mm thick x 5300mm long - 3 rolls per pack, covering a total of 5.88 square metres

570mm wide x 70mm thick x 7600mm long - 2 rolls per pack, covering a total of 8.66 square metres

370mm wide x 70mm thick x 7600mm long - 3 rolls per pack, covering a total of 8.44 square metres

570mm wide x 55mm thick x 9600mm long - 2 rolls per pack, covering a total of 10.94 square metres

370mm wide x 55mm thick x 9600mm long - 3 rolls per pack, covering a total of 10.66 square metres

Thermafleece is supplied in batts 1200mm long, either 400 or 600mm wide, and in three thicknesses: 50mm, 75mm and 100mm. To meet current standards, a typical loft would require 225mm of Thermafleece. Coverage: Thermafleece is supplied in packs of batts in six different sizes.
